Presentation

Subject

On this 1 week project, we were asked to create a small object to interact with the visitors of our school stand during a fair.

Constraints

Because the time was limited, we had to conceive a straightforward object to be sure we would be able to finish it.

Solutions

My partner and I chose to focus on the experience of the visitors of the fair. The people visiting are professionals looking for new business connections. On our ironic point of view, they are scuttling through this indoor event during the whole day and are losing track of time.

Our device named QECQOM (Quand Est Ce Qu’On Mange ? / When do we eat ? ), is kind of an ironic fire alarm looking object that works like a clock. Instead of giving you the time, it tells you if it is the time to take a coffee, lunch or beer break. Otherwise, it’s time to go back to work.

Development

At the end of this project, we has been chosen to be displayed on several school events.

After the presentation on different fairs, we decided to modify it a little bit to reuse it at our school instead of letting it rotting in a cardboard box. We changed the labels and the name to QECQOG (Quand Est Ce Qu’on Glande ? / When do we take a break ?) to fit with the school spirit.

This project has been made with Nicolas Bluteau.
